With 11+ years of continuous, dedicated service to our Local, Susan Wilson, stepped down as Local 4502 President on August 24. Her skilled leadership and vast knowledge has moved our union forward as a leader in the community.

VP Hugh Williams was then sworn in as President and based on his recommendation, the Board appointed Eric Cunningham to serve as Interim VP for the remaineder of the term.

While Susan will be greatly missed, her approaching retirement is well deserved and we are fully prepared to continue forward under Hugh's leadership. Please join me in Congratulating Susan, Hugh and Eric in their new roles!

Today Local 4502 Organizer Wayne Trakas-Lawlor joind striking Starbucks employees demanding a contract at the downtown Columbus Broad Street location.

Dear CWA 4502 Members,

Many of you have received deceptive “Opt Out” email from the so-called Freedom Foundation -- a shadowy, extremist organization funded by billionaires and anti-union fanatics.

Make no mistake, the Freedom Foundation has one goal: to weaken CWA Local 4502 right before we start contract negotiations with the City of Columbus.

Don’t be distracted by their patronizing breakup-themed email. The only thing the Freedom Foundation wants to break up is yours and your co-workers’ collective bargaining strength so we can’t improve your pay, benefits and working conditions. Apparently, the very idea of employees having a strong union as their advocate at work threatens the extremists behind the misleading email you received.

The Freedom Foundation knows how powerful a union voice can be -- that's why they're spending so much money and time to mine your personal data and contact you at work. Let's show them that we understand what a strong union is worth by remaining loyal Union members and negotiating a good contract with the City of Columbus.
